Mr. Chiranjebi Raj Devkota is the compassionate founder of KBC Khabar Australia, a cherished publication under the Kathmandu Broadcasting Channel Pty Ltd umbrella. In his role, he oversees the company’s overall management and provides thoughtful guidance to the editorial department.
With a heart dedicated to journalism and over 25 years of experience, Mr. Devkota’s career began in 1997 with Everest Herald, a prominent daily newspaper in Nepal. He went on to enrich his experience at Nayasadak Daily, Janasatta Weekly, and Ramjham Monthly Filmy Magazine, where he served as Executive Editor, always striving to uphold the highest standards of journalistic integrity.
In 2003, Mr. Devkota embraced the world of broadcasting with Image Metro Television, where he became not only a reporter and news presenter but also the Chief News Anchor and Program Producer. His innovative spirit shone through his leadership of the ‘nagar serofero’ program, which highlighted the rich history of Kathmandu’s wards.
Mr. Devkota’s journey continued with Nepal 1 Television in Delhi from 2005 to 2007, where he played a pivotal role in transitioning the channel to live news broadcasting, a significant shift from pre-recorded content. His time in Delhi also allowed him to embrace and share new technologies with his colleagues.
Returning to Nepal, he joined Sagarmatha Television in 2007, where he furthered his commitment to groundbreaking news coverage. As News Desk Chief and later Chief of the News Department, Mr. Devkota introduced innovative live reporting techniques, transforming the way news was presented in Nepal.
His tenure at News 24 Nepal, starting in 2009, marked a significant milestone as he became the founding editor and lead designer of the channel’s content. News 24 was the first in Nepal to use MPEG4 technology and digital broadcasting systems, including live coverage from helicopters and high-speed vans. His work earned the channel recognition as a model of unbiased and inclusive media.
In Australia, Mr. Devkota continued to make a meaningful impact as Chief News Editor at MNTV Australia for seven years. His investigative reporting, including a significant story on human trafficking, highlighted his unwavering commitment to uncovering the truth.
In 2021, Mr. Devkota founded Kathmandu Broadcasting Channel and KBCKhabar.com, a digital platform dedicated to providing reliable news to the Nepalese-speaking community in Australia. His recent work includes exposing fraudulent activities involving visa applications, demonstrating his ongoing dedication to public service.

Mr Narayan Khadka is a former General Secretary of the Australian Nepalese Journalist Association and an Australian correspondent of the renowned media house of Nepal (Kantipur Media Group) for over 14 years. He has been working as a journalist since 2002, beginning his early career as a correspondent for Nepal Samacharpatra. He has worked as a district reporter for Nepal Samacharpara in various districts from Gorkha to Jhapa. Before moving to Australia, he was a business desk reporter for a short period at the Kathmandu before moving to Australia.
Mr Khadka has also worked as a chief correspondent for Bibechana Daily (Jhapa) and as a correspondent for Nepal FM. He has a Bachelor degree in Business & Nursing and Masters degree in Accounting. He also has a postgraduate degree in mental health from Flinders University and works as a clinical nurse and as a mental health nurse.
Having more than 20 years of journalism experience, Mr Khadka is a well known Nepali journalist in Australia who coves social, political, migration, art and other various topics focusing Nepali Diasporas.
